Review
"I could not have been more excited when I opened my Christmas
envelope from my sister last year and discovered that she was taking
me away for a Spring Retreat with Kirsten Chick and Hayley North, in
the heart of Gloucestershire. By the time March came around, and the
spring Equinox was on the horizon, I felt I really needed some time
to reflect, heal, nourish and connect, and that is precisely what I
got!
"Upon arrival at the lovely house we were to call home for the
next five days, my sister and I discovered a bag of goodies each, with
tools for techniques and a notebook included. Each morning, we woke
our bodies up with flax-seed tea, followed by enlivening chi kung with
Hayley and delicious nourishing smoothies prepared by Kirsten. Over
the course of the retreat we had individual consultations with both
Kirsten and Hayley, giving us the opportunity to really focus on where
we were at, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
"The retreat moved towards a day spent in silence with one another,
drinking only the finest green juices. It was a magical day, during
which we went for a silent walk as a group and spent time connecting
with the earth and the trees, and basking in afternoon sunlight. The
sense of peace and calm embued all our movements that day with a kind
of reverence.
"We had time for quiet reflection, for journaling and thinking.
Time for techniques that left the body open and flowing. Time for wonderful
yoga classes full of Eureka! moments of discovery and deep, deep connection
with the body. Time for feasting on delicious food cooked lovingly and
consciously. Time to talk together and laugh and share together. Time
seemed to stretch blissfully around us, Kirsten and Hayley creating
a haven in which our every need was met with gentle awareness.
"My sister and I came home with our hearts open and our bodies
alive - every cell zinging with potential. The sense of sisterhood we
shared, talking as a group of women, gave the retreat a special sacredness
that lingered long after.
"I cannot recommend a retreat with Hayley and Kirsten highly
enough - their awareness, their passion for what they do, their openness
to discovering aspects of themselves through their work, their integrity,
kindness and honesty, not to mentino their sense of fun, inject their
workshops with light and more than a little magic." LC
