Hydration & Light- holistic workshops and retreats
***see below for new videos***

Would you like a clear way forward?
To remove the stress from your life, and your body?
To find out why hydration is so important, and just drinking water isn’t enough?

Hayley North and Kirsten Chick run holistic one-day workshops and longer retreats aimed at helping you to clear stagnation and release toxicity so that you can find a clear way forward – be it with your health, your mental/emotional state, any decisions you need to make or with your life as a whole. They provide a treasure chest of tools inspired by and grounded in their experience of yoga, movement, meditation, and natural nutrition/cellular awakening.

Hayley North & Kirsten Chick
Hayley completed her 3 year Yoga Teacher Training at Natural Bodies in Brighton and has been teaching consistently since 2002, both in the UK and internationally. She cites among her inspirations: “All dance forms, Yoga (particularly the Scaravelli inspired approach), Chinese Healing Arts, Laurie Booth’s ‘Kinetic Integration‘, Feldenkrais, Contact Improvisation, Continuum Movement, Body Mind Centering, Shamanic movement practices, Krishnamurti”.

Kirsten lectures in Nutrition and Cellular Awakening at the College of Natural Nutrition, where she originally trained with Barbara Wren. She also teaches nutrition courses at Sussex Downs College in Lewes and Evolution Arts in Brighton. She runs her nutritional therapy practice from Brighton & Hove, and also offers talks and workshops around the country.

They feel passionately that healing on any level involves clearing space and enabling fluidity in our bodies, so that we can reconnect with ourselves and our environment. We need to nurture those aspects of us that help us to reconnect: including communication systems such as our nervous system and hormonal (endocrine) system, the membranes coating each of our cells, and our groundedness. And they offer a variety of tools which work beautifully together to help us achieve this.

A treasure chest of tools
Hayley’s classes are a deep yet playful exploration, via the physical body, into yoga as a state of being. Through guided movement, breathwork and practice, students are encouraged to explore deep within the body, to identify and undo habitual patterns of tension, and allow a more primal intelligence to unfold. Blockages are freed up, dynamic space is created, and the body is open to find new ways of moving and expressing itself. As we become more grounded and connected, we feel more energised and focussed, and experience a deeper relationship with ourselves and how we relate to the world around us.

Kirsten brings a strong message about our body’s responsiveness to natural rhythms and cycles right down to cellular level, and how we can take back control and responsibility for our own health and wellbeing. She shares the tools, knowledge and inspiration to energise and support the body’s own healing methods, so that we can restore a state of balance and clarity. She teaches how to be truly nourished and hydrated, so that we can achieve this. It is not enough to ensure we are feeding ourselves the right nutrients or drinking a good amount of water – are those nutrients able to be absorbed, transported and utilised? Is there enough space and energy for the blood, lymph and other fluids to spiral through us, delivering food and information, clearing waste? Are we truly hydrating ourselves when we drink water, or is it failing to go where it needs to?

Hydration and light
When we address this fundamental principle of hydration and freedom of movement in our bodies, we are also affecting our pH (how acidic or alkaline we are), our core body temperature and our body’s ability to hold and produce light. These are the fundamental basic conditions in our bodies that need to be correct in order for us to operate at full potential.

If we can relearn how to effectively hydrate ourselves, and how to create vital space in our bodies – not dead emptiness, but charged potential, room to manoeuvre – then we have the basis for a life fully lived.

Hayley and Kirsten’s workshops and retreats provide us with an opportunity to explore what this means for each of us, and how we can make positive and real changes that point us in a new direction and set us on a new path.
